Qi Gong

Julian

Wednesdays 10-11am

Qigong is a vast and ancient Daoist practice that uses movement, breathing, visualization, and sound for healing and balancing the energy of your body and environment. Qigong was created by intense observation of nature, and derived many movements from animals.

Much of it was kept secret for most of its existence and passed down by family members from one generation to the next. Qigong, or energy cultivation heals you on all 4 levels: emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual. It has branches in Medical, Spiritual, and Martial practices. Tai-Chi Chuan is an example of a Martial (self defense oriented) branch of Qigong.

Qigong is also the root of Chinese Medicine. By practicing daily we maintain health, balance, and vitality. The acupuncture needles are like a sword kept on the shelf for serious situations. Herbs are not used daily; according to Daoists, lifestyle and food are our medicine.
